We are updating the website tonight with our favorite chunky yarn and wanted to share an awesome pattern with you!

MATERIALS

Yarn Chelsea Luxe Chunky 1 skein

Needles

· Size 10.5 circular needles, 16" long

· Size 10.5 double-pointed needles (dpns)

Notions

· Stitch marker

· Pompom maker

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS

Head circumference 18 (20)"

Length 9" (excluding pompom)

GAUGE

15 sts and 26 rnds = 4" over St st with size 10.5 needles and yarn held double.

Check gauge for best results!

K1, P1 RIB

(even number of sts)

Rnd 1 (RS) *K1, p1; rep from * to end.

Rep rnd 1 for k1, p1 rib.

HAT

With yarn held double, cast on 66 (72) sts. Place marker, and join in rnd. Work in k1, p1 rib until piece measures 2" from beg. Cont in St st (k every rnd) until piece measures 9" from beg.

Shape crown

Note Change to dpns when there are too few sts on needle.

Rnd 1 (dec) *K4, k2tog; rep from * around—55 (60) sts.

Rnd 2 (and all following even rnds) Knit.

Rnd 3 (dec) *K3, k2tog; rep from * around—44 (48) sts.

Rnd 5 (dec) *K2, k2tog; rep from * around—33 (36) sts.

Rnd 7 (dec) *K1, k2tog; rep from * around—22 (24) sts.

Rnd 9 (dec) *K2tog; rep from * around—11 (12) sts.

Cut tail, pull through rem sts.

FINISHING

Make a 4" pompom and secure to top of hat or use a fur pom pom.
